I am about to set off for my 10th visit to Africa. My journey began in Nigeria 36 years ago.

Once again, I anticipate adventure, the discomfort of other view points, the the invitation to challenge my own world views, the welcome, the aroma of red earth, and the ordered chaos of city life. I hope my colleague and I may experience a hike or two away from city brouhaha.

The Serengeti

What a day!

Dar-Es-Salaam First Night

400,000,000 people as of 2012. We stay at the Harbourview Lodge our first night in Tanzania- and it we will spend our last night here as well. We can see the Indian Ocean from our rooms by sticking our heads out over our balconies. The breakfast is a blend of European and African dishes. Delicious. I, of course, load up on fresh papaya.
